Professor Ashok Roy
Professor Ashok Roy OBE is a Consultant Psychiatrist and a recognised authority in neurodevelopmental psychiatry. He serves as Autism Clinical Lead within the NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Directorate (formerly Dept. of Health Education England) and is Chair of the Birmingham Autism and ADHD Partnership Board.
Professor Roy is also Associate Medical Director at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust and previously served as Chair of the Intellectual Disability Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is Co-Chair of the Learning Disability Professional Senate and a Trustee of Autism West Midlands and the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD).
His clinical work spans the full spectrum of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism and ADHD, across diverse intellectual profiles.
For his contributions to the field, Professor Roy was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2018 and the President’s Medal of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2024.
