Service Description

A comprehensive clinical assessment for adults exploring autism as a standalone diagnosis or alongside ADHD where an integrated AuDHD assessment is appropriate. Our in-depth service includes subtle, masked and late-recognised presentations. For an autism assessment, we focus specifically on autism while considering relevant overlapping traits, co-occurring conditions and alternative explanations. Where both autism and ADHD are suspected, our integrated AuDHD pathway assesses coexistence, overlapping, interaction and masking. We are Consultant Psychiatrist-led, evidence-based and NICE-aligned. Your assessment begins by completing validated assessment measures tailored to autism and related neurodevelopmental features, including ADHD if AuDHD is explored. These are reviewed alongside a 60-90 minute developmental and clinical history evaluation to inform a detailed, multimodal assessment. Your main 60 minute video clinical appointment take place after pre-assessment findings are analysed. The service is suitable for: - Adults seeking an autism, or combined autism and ADHD (AuDHD) assessment - Subtle, masked or late-recognised presentations - Complex or overlapping neurodevelopmental profiles - Those seeking greater diagnostic clarity Your assessment includes: - Detailed developmental and clinical history - Structured and validated autism assessment measures - ADHD assessment and diagnostic evaluation where appropriate - Assessment of social communication, sensory processing and behavioural patterns - Exploration of attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation and lived experience - Consideration of masking, compensatory strategies and co-occurring presentations - Integrated clinical analysis of all available information Our multimodal approach enables nuanced and under-recognised presentations to be explored in depth and, where autism and ADHD coexist, helps distinguish overlapping features and develop an integrated understanding of the overall neurodevelopmental profile. Following your assessment, you will receive: - A diagnosis for Autism, ADHD or AuDHD where criteria are met - Clinical explanation and feedback - A comprehensive, interpretative report within 10 working days - Personalised recommendations and tailored management strategies - Recommendations for treatment and ongoing support where appropriate - Post-report review and routine post-diagnostic check-ins
